The New Normal In Fashion For Mothers Of The Bride & Groom

The New Normal In Fashion For Mothers Of The Bride & Groom

It's fair to say that the global pandemic has had a big impact on the fashion industry. The natural order of things has been severely disrupted and the normal seasonal cycle will definitely change for 2021 and maybe beyond. This will particularly impact when mothers of the bride and groom should buy for 2021 weddings.

The spring season is the biggest for weddings and our deliveries start arriving from the end of November through to the end of February. It's always a hard process to choose from the many styles available from the designers to create the collection Fab Frocks offers each year.

For 2021 it's all change

Firstly the collections from designers will be smaller. Why? because they need volume for a style for it to be viable to be produced so having the normal number of styles just won't work for the 2021 season. This means that the number of new styles available for us to choose from will be smaller next year. But we will of course be selecting as wide a range as possible to bring you the best range available in Dorset.

Second is later delivery times. For those of you who have weddings between now and March you really should be shopping now! Instead of the normal pre-Christmas deliveries we now won't be getting new styles until February onward.

It's time to buy

Of course as a specialist boutique we always hold a wide range of styles at all times of year, so that means we have a great selection for you to choose from. In fact despite it being the biggest selection you will find in Dorset that selection and the sizes available will reduce over the coming months, and with the big increase in weddings for next year you really don't want to leave it too long.

It's important to say at this point that we have a reputation for not being pushy at Fab Frocks, and while the advice 'you should be looking now' might sound like the hard sell, it isn't. It is the new norm, the reality of the transition of fashion from pre-virus to post-virus.

As we all adjust to this new way of shopping you can be assured that we always operate in a Covid-Secure environment to protect both our customers and team and as part of that we prefer you to book an appointment to ensure we have a changing room available for you and that we limit the number of customers in-store for social distancing.
