Plus size or fuller-figured ladies, as I prefer to call them, come to my boutique delighted that we actually do over a size 18! Sadly, a lot of occasionwear shops start at a size 10 and stop at size 18. There is no plus size option!
I’m a great believer in dressing real women of all shapes and sizes. That is why our mother of the bride collections offer choices from size 8 to size 24. And we don’t just pay lip service to this. Some of our occasionwear collections are designed specifically with the fuller figure in mind.
Plus size – getting it right
Dressed Up is a fabulous on-trend, plus-size label. Why shouldn’t women who are size 22 have as much choice in occasionwear as everyone else?
This season the collection features cape styles which are fashionable for all sizes. This is simply because they don’t restrict your arms. Whatever size you are, the cape look is so flattering which is why we are selling dresses with this feature for ladies from a size 8 upwards.
There is also lots of clever layering and structuring in Dressed Up to help flatter the more curvaceous figure.
There are no loud, over-the-top prints either which can dominate and make you look bigger.
We also love the fact that the model used in all the photographs is a size 18 herself so she shows the clothes off perfectly.
If you are looking for more of an evening look for your wedding – then the Dynasty Curve collection is worth a look. It took a larger lady to make this happen. She designed the collection as she was so fed up of never finding anything to wear! She certainly knows what she wants in eveningwear. This range has dresses with sleeves, subtle ruching and soft draping at the front and back.
At the end of the day, we don’t care what size anyone is. Our aim is to make every woman look and feel fabulous on her important day. That has to be a plus point!
