One happy lady here. Yes – ‘Frozen’ is on TV on Christmas Day! I shall be sitting in my blue evening dress singing along loudly and badly! If unlike me, you have a chance to dress up for real over the festive period, why not take an icicle out of heroine Elsa’s book and go for the ice maiden look. It is a very in theme at the moment with lots of my customers on the hunt for dresses for ‘Frozen’ black-tie parties.
Cool silvers and ice blues are really in for the party season. There is so much sequin and sparkle around too in icy colours – great for creating a glamorous look. I also think sequins in these cool tones can sometimes look more classy than bright reds or green.
There is the added bonus that cool colours look fabulous worn in the height of summer too. A winter look can easily become a summer style with a tan and different accessories. So, your evening dress can make more appearances after the ice has thawed.
An evening dress for an ice maiden
For top to toe sequin looks, take a look at designers like Precious Formals. They have a whole array of dresses in ice-inspired colours – aqua blues, greys and silvers as well as white. Tiffanys Illusion dresses include lots of gorgeous mint and cobalt blues – two more great colours for a Frozen-inspired look.
Just let the dresses do the talking. Team them with a pair of earrings but no need for a necklace with the high-necked sparkly styles.
Your make-up can also carry on the Frozen theme. There are some fabulous eye make-up styles to complement your ice evening dress. Our friends over at Cloud Nine Beauty in Ferndown are creating the most amazing party eyes for our customers with smoky greys and soft, shimmery silvers. Berry red lips create a bright punctuation mark to set the whole look off.
And if you have to freeze a bit to pull of the glamorous look… just remember…the cold never bothered you anyway!
