Mother of the bride - when to shop

Buying your outfit doesn't need to be a stressful experience and we want to make sure you have all the information to hand to make the right choice. Below you will find a guide showing when collections are available. Starting at the beginning of the season will allow you a greater selection and also time to place a special order should you wish to. If, however, you only have short notice, don't panic! We are here to help and will work with you to find the perfect outfit.

Unlike the other dresses for the wedding, like the bridesmaids and bridal gown, most mother of the bride outfits are bought off the peg so you don't need the long lead times to wait for it to be made for you. This means that shopping just a few months before the wedding is very common, so don't panic that the bride has already ordered their dress a year before the wedding and think you need to be doing the same.

If you have a wedding later in the year then it's worth noting that many of the collections now have late Summer collections rather than Autumn/Winter, with some being delivered as early as April. With so many new wedding venues opening their doors over the last five or so years, it means that lots of weddings are now held in one venue so the trip from a cold church to the reception is not as common. Consequently the fabrics aren't as heavy as they used to be and the winter collections may just introduce a few darker colours.
