Enjoying an Indian summer romance

Sunday, September 25th, 2016

Who says romance is dead? I’ve spent some of today meeting lovely couples thinking of getting married at the beautiful Bournemouth Beach Weddings venue.  A whole range of lovebirds were there  – from young, first-timers to the more mature deciding to give it another go.

Standalone dresses like this one by Cabotine are due to feature strongly in 2017 occasionwear as weddings no longer mean you have to wear a jacket.

It’s mind-blowing to see the choice when it comes to planning your wedding these days. I’ve only been married 15 years and back then the choice was pretty limited. Church, country house or castle – that was about it. Now I could do beach even in the UK, garden, zoo, a quirky Stone Age hut should I desire to bring out the Thelma Flintstone in me!

All this makes choosing what you’re going to wear to a particular wedding venue even more fun and gives you so many more options. There’s no rules that say a mum of the bride or groom has to wear a dress and jacket. Standalone dresses have proved a real hit for us this season with people wanting a dress that is gorgeous enough on its own. The brides I met today were also keen on colour rather than traditional ivory, some favouring as casual as a gorgeous maxi dress for their ceremony.

Exciting choices and so refreshing to see people happy to put their own stamp of individuality on their wedding and what they will wear at it.
